"What Fogel does is subtle. His baritone is good bourbon on the rocks - sweet with a touch of snap. He's the guy you don't fall for fast - but who wins you over completely with a wistful blend of warmth and flashes of wit....." -----------LYDIA HOWELL, MINNEAPOLIS OBSERVER

"....In fact, although it's only early January, I wouldn't be surprised if ("Let's Not Be Sensible!") didn't finish up on my 'best of' list by the end of the year." -----------GERRY STONESTREET, IN TUNE INTERNATIONAL MAGAZINE

"....I was hooked from the first track to the last. Your vocals and the backings were a joy to listen to. The whole album was done with taste and care and your singing style is really very distinctive and owes nothing to anyone. The Wolverines Quartet are a splendid unit and the album is full of stylistic surprises that enhance (without distracting from) the songs...." --- (Ken Barnes, Record Producer (Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire, Jack Jones, Johnny Mercer, Peggy Lee) in a letter to Arne Fogel).

".....With great care for what the composer and lyricist had in mind ARNE FOGEL places his subtle signature over a collection of American standards. Fogel understands those messages, and you will too." (from the liner notes by Leigh Kamman).

"Arne Fogel has a powerful sense of selling a song, especially a classic song from the American musical theatre. He is a skilled recreator, and his interpretations in song benefit from his depth of both knowledge and accumulated feeling for every text and melody." (William J. Schafer, author of "The Art Of Ragtime", in The Mississippi Rag, Oct. 2002).

"....(This CD) present(s) a warm, mature, and relaxed vocal personality, equally adept at ballads and up-tempo numbers, backed by a very tasty and tasteful quartet, the Wolverines." (Gerry Stonestreet, in In Tune International magazine, Feb. 2006).

    ABOUT ARNE FOGEL

    Arne Fogel

Arne Fogel taking the stage at ROSSI'S in Minneapolis
with Keith Boyles and Dick Bortolussi

"...I can't think of anyone else around here who does what Fogel does...... There's a dearth of male jazz vocalists in general, and none in this area who has mastered Fogel's unique style of pop/swing. It's accessible, danceable, romantic and fun...."
    - Pamela Espeland, MinnPost

"...Get romantic with one of the smoothest jazz singers in the Twin Cities..."
    - Lydia Howell, Pulse Of The Twin Cities

"...one of the Twin Cities' most interesting people -- A singer, musician, actor, composer, writer, producer, music-film-comedy and entertainment historian, collector and oral encyclopedia."
    - Bob Protzman, St. Paul Pioneer Press-Dispatch

Arne Fogel is familiar to many people as an on-air personality in the upper Midwest. For 12 years he produced and hosted his own series of special "Arne Fogel Presents" programs on the stations of the Minnesota Public Radio network.
